Trudi Gunn with the gun she won at the 2008 fishing contest.

All decked out in their sub-artic apparel, Carol Mudgett and Ronda Lewan set out to canvas the ice and sell tickets for the special on site raffles.

Member Darrel Romig studies the leader board to see who is winning each category. The background shows the enlarged pavillion.

Everyone smiles when kids are the winners. First prize winner in the Bass category was Caleb Nedden.

Not quite your ordinary, every-day ice fishing shack.

This photo shows the area around the aerator on the Miller Dam Flowage. Barrels are placed around thearea to warn fishermen, snowmobilers, and atv enthusiasts that the ice is open there.  It is located near the Lion's Club pavilion and boat dock.

Aeration System Project

The new aerator should be here and ready for installation soon.  We have received donations of $2,500 from the Taylor County Sportsmans Club and $3000 from Wal-Mart. Special thanks to the members that solicited these funds.  Hopefully this project will be completed by the end of August.  Update information at the picnic meeting.

 Display Case in the Pavilion

Don Northup built a very nice display case that is now mounted on the back wall of the new enlarged pavilion.  The first display consists of informational items for tourists and campers.  These include a Taylor County map, contact numbers and websites for booking campsites, a copy of our last newsletter, the meeting calendar, and the Star News articles about the history of the dam.  In the future, Brad Ruesch will post important notices as needed, and we may include photos of improvements and ice fishing contests.   ************************************************************************

Ice Fishing Contest Plans

Members are already working on the plans for the next ice fishing contest.  Mark Kurziak, our member from West Bend, has been dealing with Frabil on items for prizes.  Just a little extra publicity might pay off with the donation of some larger prizes! We have been getting some of our smaller prizes there in the past.  Way to go, Mark!

Annual Association Picnic

The annual picnic and August meeting will be on August 3 at the Pavilion. Members should attempt to gather around noon with the meeting scheduled for 12:30.  Bring a dish to pass,  your beverage of choice, and utensils.  The meat will be provided by the club.  The agenda includes updates on projects, elections, and possible guest speakers. This meeting is open to the public so bring your friends!
