Highways
Major highways intersecting in Medford are State Routes 13 and 64. County Highway O connects the Industrial Parks with both highways. State Highway 13 is a designated federal highway in the Department of Transportation’s Corridor 2020 Plan.

Rail
Medford is served by a branch of the Wisconsin Central Railroad which extends from Medford south to a connection with the main line at Spencer, Wisconsin. All accounts are handled at the Wisconsin Central Railroad customer service office in Stevens Point.

Bus Service
Wisconsin-Michigan Trailways provides regular route bus service between Abbotsford and most cities in Wisconsin, plus Minneapolis and direct service to Chicago. (Abbotsford is only 15 miles away.)

Air Service
Three miles southeast of Medford is the Taylor County Airport. It has a 4,100 foot paved and lighted runway with a NDB non precision approach. Services provided include: Jet A fuel, 100 low-lead AV gas, car rental, taxi service, large ramp/tie down area, flight instruction, and computerized weather briefing/flight planning service. The current operating hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., or with prior arrangements. The addition of an east/west 4,950 foot paved and lighted runway and an automated weather observation system (AWOS) was completed in 1996.

Taxi
Section 18 subsidized shared ride taxi services in the city six days a week. One cab and one wheel chair equipped van are available.
